Itō Jakuchū was a Japanese painter of the mid-Edo period when Japan had closed its doors to the outside world and Tokyo was called Edo. Swallow and Camellia is one in a series of prints on woodblock by Itō Jakuchū that encompass the same painting style.
This art print has been edited and added to by Lost In Art to modernise his works. We have added text in English and Japanese and included a colour pallette. The original artwork in held at the Met Museum in New York but is not currently on display.
